Generally, the rates on commercial properties are more difficult to obtain. Some banks would only lend on owner-occupied commercial properties. Residential rental properties are easier to obtain. LOANS SECURED BY LAND Generally, loans on vacant land are most difficult to obtain as vacant land does not produce income to support the loan. The loan-to-value ratio of loans on vacant land is generally lower and the rates are usually higher.
